GMAP 2024 honoured the nine programmes on conflict prevention and resolution
The Global Media Peace Awards 2024 concluded on 26 November 2024 with an online award ceremony bringing together media creators from across the globe. Organized by Executive Education HEC Montréal and the Pale Blue Dot Foundation, this ambitious initiative marked a significant step forward in using media as a vector for peace, resilience, and global understanding.
With 189 submissions for the Radio, Television, and Digital Media categories, the event highlighted a growing enthusiasm for stories and messages that transcend conflict, inspire hope, and foster dialogue. The GMPA honours the commitment of journalists and media producers to addressing global challenges for peace-building through innovative and inclusive solutions that embody universal values such as peace, tolerance, and resilience.

Radio Category
1st Prize: Azzura Meringolo Scarfoglio (Italy) – “Help me! I am a little girl; they are shooting at me. Hind’s last phone call from Gaza”
2nd Prize: Nguyen Vu Duy, Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, Nguyen Pham Huan, Nguyen Quynh Hoa and Lai Thi Hoa (Vietnam)- “Coming Home”
3rd Prize: Mohamad Chegeni (Iran) – “Human Extinction”
Television Category
1st Prize: Farzad Jafari (Iran) – “Freedom”
2nd Prize: Matteo Delbò, Elena Stramentinoli and Roberta Pallotta (Italy) – “Peace at All Costs”
3rd Prize: Le Hoang Linh (Vietnam)- “Fragments of Memory”
Digital Media Category
1st Prize: Richard G. Sergay (USA) – “Rwanda Forgiveness”
2nd Prize: Amy Hutchinson (USA) – “Baseball Harmony”
3rd Prize: Phi Hoang Le and Nguyen Tuyet Yen (Vietnam)- “Not Alone”
Building on the success of this first edition, the GMPA 2025 will commence in March 2025. It is a must-attend event for engaged creators. By placing media at the center of social transformation, the Awards contribute to building a global movement focused on peace and tolerance.
