2nd International Seminar “Next-Generation Leaders Development: AI and and Humanity for Peace and Sustainability” successfully organized

Organizers and speakers at Thammasat University

Kyoto University, Japan, Thammasat University, Thailand and PBD Foundation jointly organized the International Seminar “Next-Generation Leaders Development: AI and HI and Humanity for Peace and Sustainability” on 14 December 2024, at Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan Campus, Bangkok, Thailand. 

In addition to the on-site participants at the Campus, around 800 global audiences, including students and researchers, viewed the seminar’s Facebook online stream.

The hybrid seminar, held onsite at the Chao Phraya riverside and online, was dedicated to reflecting on global challenges and integrating AI technology into human life. It focused on AI’s potential to drive positive change to address global challenges and explore its impact on humanity, cultural values, and traditions.

In particular, the seminar aimed to

  • Examine AI’s transformative impact across sectors and its role in solving complex global issues.
  • Explore the ethical coexistence of humanity and AI.
  • Highlight successful AI applications in promoting peace and sustainability.

  • Mr. Tumur Amarsanaa, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Thailand

    “Southeast Asia regional collaboration to promote AI in education”
  • Mr Phinith Chanthalangsy, Regional Advisor for the Social and Human Sciences at the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok
    “Ethics of AI for peace and sustainability”
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jirapon Sankpho, Vice Rector for Administration (Thaprachan Campus) and Digital Affairs / Associate Professor of MDX DataSci and dX, Thammasat Univesity
    “State-of-the-art AI and higher education.”
